Schomberg is a century village with farmland around it
A genuinely old Main Street, a handful of newer streets behind it, and working agricultural land in every direction. The houses here are older than most of what we touch, and a good number of them are not on a municipal pipe at all.
Old houses, honestly assessed
The homes along and behind Schomberg Main Street go back a long way, and plumbing of that vintage has usually been replaced in pieces rather than all at once. Open a wall and you find whatever was current when that particular repair happened — a length of copper joined to something older, joined to something older still.
That is not automatically a crisis. What it does mean is that a quote based on assumptions is worthless here. We look at what is actually in the walls before putting a number on anything, and where a house needs work in stages we will tell you which runs are genuinely urgent and which will hold for years. Some will. Plenty of the alarming-looking pipe in a century home is doing fine.
The farmland question
Schomberg sits in working agricultural country, and a lot of the properties around the village are on private water and private waste. That is the single most important thing to establish before you book us, because it decides whether we can help at all.
We do the house. We do not do the systems outside it. No wells, no well pumps, no pressure tanks, no water treatment, no septic tanks or beds. If you are on private services, everything inside the house from the pressure tank onward is ours — fixtures, drains, water heaters, interior piping, renovations. The water source and the waste treatment are not.
The same applies to agricultural plumbing. Barn water lines, livestock waterers, irrigation and any farm system are outside what we take on. We are a residential and small commercial company, and a working farm needs someone who does that specifically.
King Township permits
Schomberg is in King Township, so plumbing permits and inspections for drain and sewer alterations come from King rather than Vaughan or Newmarket. We pull those and book the inspection as part of the job. It is the same process we handle in King City and Nobleton.

Do you work on farm properties?
We work on the farmhouse, not the farm. Plumbing inside the dwelling is ordinary residential work and all of it is ours. Barn water lines, livestock waterers and irrigation are not — that is a specialism of its own. If you are unsure where the line falls, describe it on the phone.
My house is over a hundred years old. Where do we even start?
With looking, not quoting. We go through what is actually in the walls and under the floors, then tell you which runs are genuinely at the end of their life and which are fine for years yet. Century homes attract the hard sell. The useful answer is which two or three things matter.
Is Schomberg on municipal water?
Parts of the village are serviced and a good deal of the surrounding township is not. The quickest check is where the water enters your basement: a meter means municipal, a pressure tank and pump means a private well. It matters because we do not service wells, pumps or treatment equipment.
Who issues plumbing permits out here?
King Township. Schomberg is in King, so drain and sewer alterations are permitted and inspected through the Township rather than Vaughan, Newmarket or Aurora. We pull the permit and book the inspection as part of the job — unpermitted work tends to resurface when you sell.
How far west of Schomberg will you come?
Call and ask, because it depends where. We cover a good deal of the area, but there is a point past which we would be promising a response we could not keep. We would rather say so than find out together at midnight.
